Final book cover presentation for Letters to Jasper, including the front cover, back cover, and spine design.
Project Overview
Letters to Jasper was a book cover design project for Tony Winn, an author based in Cleveland, Ohio. The work focused on creating a complete visual presentation for the book, including the front cover, back cover, and spine, while making sure the final files could be prepared correctly for print-on-demand publishing through Amazon.
Cover Design Direction
The design needed to work as both a visual story and a practical publishing asset. I created the front cover to capture attention, the back cover to support the book’s description and author presentation, and the spine so the full wraparound cover felt consistent when printed as a physical book.
Print-Ready Formatting
Beyond the creative design, the project included preparing the cover in multiple size formats for Amazon print requirements. This meant accounting for trim size, spine width, bleed, safe zones, and layout adjustments so the artwork could be uploaded and printed correctly.
Front, Back & Spine
The finished cover system included the full exterior book design: front cover artwork, back cover layout, and the bind/spine section. Each piece had to feel connected visually while still serving a different purpose in the overall book package.
Impact
The final result gave Letters to Jasper a polished, print-ready cover system that could move from digital concept to physical book production. The project combined creative direction, layout design, publishing requirements, and technical file preparation into a finished author-ready package.
